Fees
New fees for standard consults will be:
- $85.00 paid in full at time of consult – 10% discount on total fee and 20% reduction on patient contribution.
- Concession card holders will receive a further reduction. A standard consult fee will be $70.00, paid in full at time of attendance.
- Medicare rebate for standard consult is $41.20.
Our reception staff are able to assist you to get your Medicare rebate back at the same time as you pay your account. Please discuss with them how you can receive this service.
Pioneer Medical Centre is not a bulk billing practice. If the doctor you see decides to bulk bill you, they are accepting the lesser fee and will send the account directly to Medicare for the government to pay directly to the doctor. But that fee is not the same as the fee you are charged as a private patient.
AMA recommends a patient fee of $98.00.
Currently most GPs providing services at Pioneer Medical Centre will accept the significantly reduced fee for children under 5 by bulk billing them. Reduced private fees apply to children 5-16 – standard consult will be $70 with rebate of $41.20.

Patients can still choose to pay only the gap at the time of consult; however, this will incur a higher fee. Gaps will be $50 and $35, respectively.
Fees are at doctors discretion and if you feel you have extenuating circumstances, please discuss these with your GP.
Other medical services
Some services provided by Pioneer Medical Centre may not attract a Medicare rebate, such as:
- dressings
- heavy vehicle licences
- employment medicals
- completion of travel forms
So that we can advise you of the fees that may apply, please discuss your requirements with your doctor or our front reception staff.
